The window ladder
Four rolling windows (2, 3, 5, and 10 minutes) computed simultaneously and shown side by side, each cell displaying its σ value colored by direction.
2m +1.8σ 3m +2.4σ 5m +4.2σ 10m +1.1σ
The ladder answers one question at a glance: is this flow a burst or a campaign? A spike in the 2-minute cell that the 10-minute cell ignores is a burst. All four cells leaning the same way is a campaign.
Burst
2m +3.4σ
3m +0.6σ
5m +0.4σ
10m +0.1σ
Campaign
2m +2.1σ
3m +2.6σ
5m +3.1σ
10m +2.8σ
Persistent-vs-transient separates mechanically different market episodes, and each mechanism has a characteristic timescale. A cell shows -- while its own band is warming up or the feed is stale.
NoteThe primary window (default 5 minutes) selects which window drives the plotted lines, band, and alerts; the ladder always shows all four.
