Updates & deprecation
What is in 3.0.22
3.0.22 is the first release of the indicator for Sierra Chart. It has the flow lines, the Resistance / Support bands, the price-chart arrows, the console with its alerts and global notifications, and Console Mode, so the console can read a different family of lines from the chart (see Console Mode). It has no local data API.
How updates work
A new version is a new DLL. Download it from your Stack Signal account, replace the file outside your trading hours and restart Sierra Chart (File > Save All, File > Exit, start it again), as described in getting started. Your chartbook, console settings and licence are kept.
Each time Sierra Chart loads the indicator, it downloads its remote configuration and resolves one of three states:
- Active: current version, nothing to do.
- Update available: a newer version exists. Global notifications say
An update to the Pulling & Stacking Indicator is available:followed by a short note. - Deprecated: versions at or below the deprecation threshold are
disabled and must be updated to continue. The console does not open, the
chart stays empty, and Sierra Chart's Message Log says
INDICATOR DISABLED:followed by the reason, for examplePlease install the latest version.
If the configuration cannot be downloaded, the indicator keeps running, and
Global notifications say
Remote configuration unavailable; using local defaults: with the reason.
If you believe your access was disabled in error, open a support ticket at contact@stacksignal.com.
A revised version of the Terms and Conditions is presented when the indicator next loads.
The installed version is in the first line the indicator writes to Sierra
Chart's Message Log when it starts, for example
Pulling & Stacking Indicator 3.0.22 on BTCUSDT_PERP_BINANCE: Level Depth 10, book read every chart update (50 ms on this chart).
Messages from Stack Signal
Now and then the indicator may show a short message from Stack Signal, for
example about a new feature. It checks for one once per platform session,
after the terms are accepted, and shows at most one message per session in a
small window that does not block the chart or the indicator. The window has a
Dismiss button and, when the message has a link, a button that opens it
in your browser; nothing opens unless you click it. The same message is
written once to the console's Global notifications as a MESSAGE line.
Closing the window in any way marks the message as seen, and it is not shown
again. If the messages cannot be downloaded, nothing is shown and the
indicator carries on as normal. Tips and videos are on the website.
