Updates & deprecation

What is in 3.0.22

3.0.22 is the first release of the indicator for MotiveWave. It has the flow lines, the Resistance / Support bands, the price-chart arrows, the console with its alerts and global notifications, and Console Mode, so the console can read a different family of lines from the chart (see Console Mode). It has no local data API.

How updates work

A new version is a new jar. Download it from your Stack Signal account, import it as described in getting started, then restart MotiveWave so every chart runs it. Your workspace, console settings and licence are kept.

On MotiveWave the indicator has no remote configuration, so it shows no update prompt. New versions are in your Stack Signal account, and a message from Stack Signal (below) may also announce one. The Terms and Conditions come with the indicator, so a revised version of the terms arrives with a new release.

If the indicator stops working after an update, or you think your access is wrong, open a support ticket at contact@stacksignal.com.

Messages from Stack Signal

Now and then the indicator may show a short message from Stack Signal, for example about a new feature. It checks for one once per platform session, after the terms are accepted, and shows at most one message per session in a small window that does not block the chart or the indicator. The window has a Dismiss button and, when the message has a link, a button that opens it in your browser; nothing opens unless you click it. The same message is written once to the console's Global notifications as a MESSAGE line. Closing the window in any way marks the message as seen, and it is not shown again. If the messages cannot be downloaded, nothing is shown and the indicator carries on as normal. Tips and videos are on the website.

Risk disclosure. Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. The possibility of profit is not equal to the possibility of loss: losses can be larger than any gains, and you can lose more than you invest.

The Pulling & Stacking Indicator is an analytical tool. It does not provide investment advice or trade recommendations, and nothing it displays is a signal to buy or sell.

Hypothetical performance disclosure. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.

Chart images. The chart images on this site show the indicator's display on market data, to explain what it draws. They are not trading results or trade recommendations, and the risk and hypothetical performance disclosures above apply to them. We publish no trading performance.

Virtual currencies. Some chart images show cryptocurrency instruments. View CFTC advisories, as they contain more information on the risks associated with trading virtual currencies.
